Jupiter Hotels announces it has raised £50,000 to date for their chosen Charity of the Year, Breast Cancer Care, with further funds being raised this year.
The group’s fundraising activity includes hosting a selection of charity events across 26 of its hotels in the UK throughout the year. Key highlights for the last year include the ‘Big Night In’ held at the Mercure Maidstone, where the Parkside Suite was transformed into Grease movie heaven; Mercure Edinburgh City’s city cycle ride from the hotel to Castle House, which saw members of staff cycle the distance and raise over £1500; plus a five-a-side football tournament which took place at Mercure London Watford and raised over £500.
Throughout this October, Breast Cancer Care Awareness month, the group will host an array of extra special events including Strawberry Tea Afternoon; with hotels selling a range of strawberry flavoured desserts and teas to all guests and Pink Fridays; where all staff dress in a range of colourful pink attire and host bake-offs, with all proceeds going to the chosen charity.
The money raised by Jupiter Hotels helps Breast Cancer Care provide emotional and practical support, bringing the 55,000 people diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK together. This includes a free helpline, website and confidential face-to-face services.
Shane Harris, CEO of Jupiter Hotels commented: “We are thrilled with our contribution to Breast Cancer Care over the last year. All of our hotels have shown huge enthusiasm and commitment to raising money for such a worthwhile cause, which is why we decided to continue fundraising for them as our chosen charity of this year.”
