Delight in locally inspired afternoon tea as Mercure Manchester Piccadilly celebrates city’s heritage
Fancy an Afternoon Tea with a difference? Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel is offering a unique tasting experience, with guests invited to indulge in tastes made famous by the city and paying homage to the creation of a new wall mural, proudly displaying Manchester’s most iconic people and places.
The four star hotel has created a unique Manchester-themed afternoon tea, adorned with dishes inspired by all things “Mancunian” from just £38, for two. The offer includes a selection of tasty treats and savoury delights, alongside a choice of loose-leaf teas or coffee.
Guests can enjoy Coronation (Street) Chicken Wraps, Cheshire Cheese with Boddingtons Chutney and sample the scrumptious prawn sandwiches made famous by Roy Keane during his time at Old Trafford. Other dishes on the menu include Bury Black Pudding Scotch Eggs coated with Kellogg’s Corn Flakes.
For those with a sweet tooth, the hotel’s Manchester Tart is a must. Home-made Jaffa Cakes created in the city, flavoursome Vimto Triffle and scones filled with clotted cream and locally sourced Duerr’s strawberry jam, which completes the inspired menu.
The Afternoon Tea celebrates Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel’s giant new wall mural installation, built to showcase an exquisite collection of famous people and places from Manchester, drawing on the heart of the brand’s DNA which brings people and places together.
