Mercure Leicester City awarded 4* rating by AA

Mercure’s Leicester City property, managed by Jupiter Hotels, has been awarded four stars by the AA’s recognised rating scheme for hotels.

The hotel, just two minutes from the city’s Cultural Quarter, is housed in a fine Victorian building with modernised hotel features including free standard WiFi in all 104 guest bedrooms and public spaces. The property is the ideal base for discovering one of the most vibrant cities in the Midlands with attractions including the Highcross Shopping Centre, the National Space Centre and the Curve theatre.

Mercure Leicester City features six recently refurbished privilege rooms and one superior room. Each of these rooms include free high‐speed WiFi, a Nespresso coffee machine, a flat screen TV with an unlimited movie service, plus complimentary robes and slippers and a complimentary newspaper. The refurbishment of 92 further guest rooms will be completed by the end of summer 2013.

James Conaghan, Hotel Manager of Mercure Leicester City commented “We’re thrilled to have been awarded an AA four star rating. The whole team has worked really hard this year and this award is the crowning achievement.”

The property has 10 fully equipped meeting rooms including the grand Kings Ballroom, which accommodates 450 conference delegates and is one of the most impressive conference spaces in the city.

Shane Harris, CEO at Jupiter Hotels said “We’re proud of the work that has gone into securing the four star rating for the Mercure Leicester City. The achievement is much‐deserved recognition for the diligent staff at this hotel.”

The AA is one of the UK’s most recognised and trusted brands, recommending and acknowledging hotels for over a century. In 2008, the AA celebrated 100 years in the hospitality industry.
