Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel Refurbishes Conference Space
Renovation work on the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel’s International Suite has been completed, following a £500,000 investment. The space, which is able to accommodate 800 guests theatre‐style and 650 guests for a banquet, becomes one of the North‐West’s largest event facilities.
Shane Harris, CEO at Jupiter Hotels commented: “The refurbishment is an exciting development for the property. The space is versatile, it will be able to cater for large‐scale meetings and exhibitions – as well as weddings and other formal events.”
The Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel features 280 bedrooms and is a short walk from Manchester Piccadilly railway station, benefitting from views overlooking Manchester’s vivacious city centre. The hotel, which was recently awarded four‐star status by the AA, features 10 additional meeting rooms and benefits from free Wi‐Fi throughout the hotel.
Interior designer Helen Hooper of HH Interiors, who has previously worked with the Mercure group on renovation projects, led the International Suite project. Helen explained: “The new space is glamorous and elegant, befitting of the hotel’s clientele of business people and sports personalities alike, which Manchester is famed for. Grand crystal chandeliers form their own patterns on the ceiling – the space also features an array of stunning bespoke lit glass flowers and arched mirrors in antique glass.”
“We are incredibly pleased with the International Suite renovation – the room is contemporary and fresh, the result is exactly what we were looking for. Our events team is looking forward to welcoming guests to the new space,” General Manager David Daly said.
In partnership with Muscular Dystrophy the new International Suite will be officially unveiled on Thursday 17th October 2013. The evening will comprise of a champagne reception, followed by dinner and entertainment raising money and awareness for Muscular Dystrophy.
